What it is

Service projects help scouts practice helpfulness, citizenship, preparedness, and care for the community. Examples may include food-collection efforts, trail or park cleanups, weather-readiness projects, and other age-appropriate service approved by pack leadership.

During a recent North Bend State Park campout, Pack 60 scouts and families helped clean up garden beds as part of the weekend.

When it usually happens

Service opportunities may happen throughout the year as approved projects are planned.

Why scouts enjoy it

Scouts can see that their work matters, learn teamwork, and build pride in helping others.

What families should know

Service projects are planned around age-appropriate work and family participation.
