Cub Scout costs can include national registration, local pack dues, uniform items, handbook materials, and optional activity expenses.
Pack 60 dues cover basic shared expenses, including advancement awards, pack camping needs, Pinewood Derby cars, and other minimal pack costs.
Fees can change by year and family situation, so families should confirm current costs with Pack 60 before registering or making purchases.
Uniform costs
The scout uniform is a separate cost from registration and pack dues. Pack 60 encourages a complete, neat, rank-appropriate field uniform and uses a Pack 60 T-shirt as the activity uniform when designated. Families should review uniform basics and ask pack leadership about rank-specific items before buying.
Assistance
Pack 60 believes every child should have the opportunity to participate in Scouting. Financial issues will never prevent a child from participating. If cost is a concern, contact cubmaster.pack60wv@gmail.com or speak privately with a den leader, Cubmaster, or committee chair so the pack can help.
Fundraising
Each Scout year, Pack 60 asks every family to make one clear commitment:
- Participate in Pack 60 fundraising efforts; or
- Make a one-time $250 donation for the Scout year.
The pack’s customary council fundraisers are a fall Campmasters popcorn sale and a spring nut sale. Families who choose fundraising may sell to friends and family through preorders or participate in at least two pack show-and-sell opportunities. The pack welcomes families doing both. Pack-run group sales have at least two registered adult leaders present.
Dues cover the basics; fundraising helps pay for council activities, additional campouts, special outings, and other events. Dates and instructions are shared through official pack communications.
